TUNE Marketplace Partner Spotlight - AddShoppers

AddShoppers was established in 2011 to create and acquire digital assets that save shoppers time and money, with the goal of creating a seamless connection between e-commerce brands and their customers. Their SafeOpt platform enables users to receive exclusive, verified offers from thousands of participating brands. It’s designed to enhance the shopping experience by providing time-saving solutions, eliminating the need to manually hunt for discounts.

Read on to see if AddShoppers could be the right partner for your business goals!

Q: Can you give us a high-level overview of AddShoppers?

A: SafeOpt by AddShoppers is a revenue recovery platform specifically created to maximize conversions and decrease customer acquisition cost. By leveraging our proprietary network of 200+ million U.S. shoppers, we are able to identify more of your site traffic and serve verified offers directly to high-intent visitors that didn’t convert while on your site, even if they are completely anonymous to you. Each qualified shopper receives a SafeOpt email with a dedicated offer to help drive them back to your store. Ultimately, SafeOpt helps thousands of brands win back lost revenue and build loyal customer bases by turning browsers into buyers.

Q: What are the top ways you promote brands?

A: Direct to inbox offers via email.

Q: What is the total reach of your audience?

A: 200+ million U.S. shoppers in our platform.

Q: Which verticals perform the best with AddShoppers?

A: We do really well for all traditional e-commerce brands that have a shopping cart on their site. Some of our top verticals are apparel and accessories, home and furniture, jewelry, and health and wellness.

Q: Can you tell us about a successful campaign you’ve run in the last six months?

A: Here are three case studies:

Q: What’s something unique about SafeOpt by AddShoppers?

A: SafeOpt by AddShoppers takes on a lot of ownership on behalf of the brand. When we send out our offers, they come from our domain instead of the brand’s, helping to keep their internal emailing strategy separate and intact from unsubscribes or spam complaints.

Q: Any industry trends or insights to share with brands?

A: Average conversion rates continue to float in the neighborhood of about 2%. This means 95–99% of all site traffic fails to convert. Typically, only 3–5% of site visitors sign up to receive brand emails.

This is the current gap we see in the market and in most brands’ tech stacks. Brands are looking for a way to get directly to the inbox of unknown and anonymous visitors while staying compliant. SafeOpt wants to help fill this gap for them!

How to Boost Partner Recruitment on Any Affiliate Marketing Platform

Congratulations on your shiny new affiliate program!

After months of studying the needs and buying habits of consumers, you developed a new product, created an offer, and opened a store. You identified your ideal customer, but also the biggest competitors in your targeted niche. After digging through tons of data and crunching the numbers, you’ve mapped out a solid go-to-market strategy to ensure long-term success. Everything looks good and you’re ready to launch, or so you think.

Just like a traditional brick-and-mortar shop, you want to get customers in the door as quickly as possible, but where do you look for them? More importantly, how do you let them know you’re open for business? How do you get them to start spending money with your brand? TUNE offers some quick tips to help small businesses discover the benefits of an affiliate program.

Why It Pays to Put in the Work

Whatever media channel or traffic source you choose to reach your desired audience, you’ll need to enlist reliable media partners to help get the word out as quickly as possible. Recruitment is often the biggest challenge when it comes to launching programs, so it’s important for brands to understand that a successful partnership program on any platform requires affiliate identification, outreach, negotiation, and ongoing relationship management.

Owning your affiliate recruitment strategy is important for advertisers and brands
Successful affiliate recruitment takes time and effort. When done right, it’s an investment that pays for itself several times over.

Brands should always maintain full ownership of their recruitment initiatives and devote considerable time and effort upfront to build (and maintain) their desired partner pipelines. Adopting a “set it and forget it” strategy will always deliver poor results; investing in this effort early on will pay dividends in the success of your program. Try to think of it like this: An affiliate program is like a gym membership. If you join a gym, regardless of the amenities, but never take the time to actually go in and work out, you won’t see any results. And you cannot blame the gym — in other words, your platform — for that.

In the old days of affiliate marketing, publishers were relentless in the pursuit of brands. Advertisers called the shots when it came to deciding where to spend their ad dollars, and only publishers with pristine content, astronomical volume, and high traffic-ranking scores were considered for program opportunities. Requests For Proposal (RFPs) were a requirement, as brands expected a full accounting of where their ad dollars were being spent.

The roles have been reversed, and now it is publishers who are in the driver’s seat. Brands are now finding themselves in the pitching position. Publishers are more selective, and thanks to the success of social media platforms, they are more than willing to pass on opportunities that don’t make sense for their audiences or content strategy. For them, payout is secondary to offers that resonate with their base and foster long-term engagement.

How to Recruit Affiliates and Other Marketing Partners

To help our customers with their recruitment efforts, TUNE’s Partnerships Team has put together this quick list of internal and external resources:

1. TUNE Marketplace

TUNE’s Marketplace is a curated list of carefully vetted media, agency, and technology partners open to direct relationships with TUNE clients. From their private dashboard accounts, brands managing programs on TUNE have the ability to sort and preview partner profiles, including verticals, regions, and accepted payout models, after which, they can request a connection directly with the selected partner at the click of a button. After a partner has been selected, an automated introduction email will be sent to both parties directly from the platform. To improve the chances for a quick and reasonable response, it is highly recommended for the customer to follow up immediately with specific offer payouts, conversion metrics, audience targets, and acceptable traffic sources.

2. Publisher Discovery

Publisher Discovery is a third-party recruitment tool that can be used in conjunction with TUNE Connect. Think of it as Google, but for affiliates. For a discounted fee, it is a great add-on option that offers customers a wider range of affiliates for their programs, including granular competitor reports, payout details, and direct publisher contact information. Download our one-sheet to learn more.

3. Agency Services

We understand some brands experience limitations due to inadequate platform training, staffing shortages, or time constraints. Agencies can help grow programs at an average of 30% or more. TUNE has 40+ outstanding full-service agency partners who are available and willing to assist with program strategy, management, and partner recruitment. Pricing may vary, but we do our best to match our brands with the best and most reasonable options.

Maximize Your Partner Recruitment with TUNE

As an important rule of thumb, it’s good to remember that the devil is in the details, so follow-up is a must. We recommend reaching out to the direct contact in the email introduction within a period of 24 hours or less. Brands should have a clear and viable understanding of their program goals and be ready to present them if the publisher expresses an interest in continuing the conversation. We strongly recommend avoiding the use of broad terms and vague language. This will improve the chances of receiving a response. Some publishers may also request a one-sheet or overview deck.

Even if you do everything right, publisher responses are not guaranteed once an introduction has been facilitated by TUNE. That’s why our Partnerships Team is here to help identify potential blockers and assist with helping you connect with your new and most valuable affiliates.

If you have questions about partner recruitment or would like more information about our resources, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at partnerships@tune.com

How to Use AI in Influencer Marketing

There’s no denying it: artificial intelligence is here to stay. And it’s disrupting almost every area of marketing you could think of, including the world of influencer marketing. As social media platforms and trends shift, the content creation process shifts with them. This change is nudging digital marketers to investigate AI-powered tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Midjourney to expedite and optimize their daily tasks. We’ve been investigating ourselves, with mixed results — so if you’re determined to add AI to your influencer marketing strategy, just know it’s not a plug-and-play solution. It takes time, testing, and a clear idea of the relevant tactics and desired outcomes to succeed.

Sound good? Great! Let’s dive in.

How to Use ChatGPT, Midjourney, and Claude for Influencer Marketing

AI is on the rise across the board. Influencer marketing is no exception:

 • According to a recent report by Influencer Marketing Hub, 63% of marketers plan to increase their influencer marketing budget in the next year, with AI tools being a key area of investment.
 • In the same report, respondents identified three main uses for AI in influencer marketing: influencer identification (64%), content discovery and distribution (13.3%), and fraud identification (5.6%).

Here are a few ways that you use AI tools in your influencer marketing today.

Use ChatGPT to Identify Influencers

Identifying the right influencers to partner with is a critical component of any successful influencer marketing campaign. ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, is a powerful language model that can assist in various aspects of partner discovery and recruitment for influencer marketing. Because it has access to the internet (unlike some AI models), ChatGPT can search relevant sites and social media platforms for you, saving hours in your search for the right partners.

Try using ChatGPT and similar AI-powered tools to search the internet for influencers who fit your ideal profile. Provide your marketing guidelines or website, then ask to identify the influencers that align with your brand’s values, target audience, and marketing objectives. You can also ask ChatGPT analyze large datasets of social media activity, content performance, and audience demographics. Or ask it how best to ask it to find influencers; starting with the right prompt is key, so why not prompt it to provide the right prompt? The options are only as limited as your creativity!

Keep in mind that any data you give to ChatGPT could be shared with OpenAI or others. If you routinely work with sensitive data, consider using the paid version or a different model.

Use Midjourney to Generate Content and Ideas

Influencer marketing is not just about finding the right partners; it’s also about creating engaging, high-quality content that resonates with their followers. AI tools like Midjourney, an image generator, can be used to generate and iterate stunning visuals, while ChatGPT and Claude can help craft captions, scripts, and even entire content strategies.

A few examples of how AI can help in the content process:

 • Design Inspiration: Prompt Midjourney with the subject, tone, look, and feel you’re going for in a campaign and let it brainstorm visual directions for you.
 • Asset Creation: Generate graphics, banners, and other assets that influencers can use in their content. (Watch out, though: AI tools are still getting the hang of letters, and they often can’t spell worth a lick. Check your images for any text that’s generated, or create images without text and add it in post. There’s nothing worse than an AI-generated ad that spells words wrong or includes letters that don’t exist.)
 • Scriptwriting: Use ChatGPT or Claude to generate scripts or script ideas for influencer videos and podcasts that resonate with a specified target audience.
 • Social Media Posts: Create on-brand captions and posts that influencers can use across their platforms.

By automating these creative tasks, you can free up your influencers to focus on what they do best: building authentic connections with their audience.

Use Claude to Analyze and Optimize Campaigns

Measuring the success of your influencer marketing efforts is crucial for making informed decisions and optimizing future campaigns. AI-powered analytics tools can provide in-depth insights into key performance indicators (KPIs) such as reach, engagement, conversions, and return on investment (ROI).

Claude, an AI model from Anthropic, is designed to assist in complex decision-making processes. Unlike ChatGPT, though, Claude is designed to be self-contained, which means it won’t access the internet when forming a response. You’ll have to provide it with any relevant data you want to analyze. Luckily, this is as easy as uploading documents or images directly in your chat.

If you have large datasets you want to analyze, Claude is your go-to tool. Here are a few ideas on how to get started:

 • Influencer Selection: Analyze engagement metrics, audience demographics, and content relevance to select the most effective influencers.
 • Performance Tracking: Monitor influencer content performance over time, identifying which messages, formats, or topics are driving the most engagement and conversions.
 • Sentiment Analysis: Claude can analyze audience sentiment towards influencer content, helping you refine your strategy for better results.

By leveraging these advanced data analysis capabilities, you can gain a deeper understanding of what’s working, what’s not, and how to fine-tune your approach for maximum impact.

How to Navigate the Ethics of AI in Influencer Marketing

Ensure Transparency and Authenticity

The rise of AI in influencer marketing has raised important questions about transparency and authenticity. As you explore these tools, it’s crucial to maintain clear communication with your influencer partners and their audiences about the use of AI in content creation or campaign management. Not everyone is on the AI train, and that’s OK. Transparency will help build trust and preserve the integrity of your influencer marketing efforts.

Address Bias and Fairness in AI-Driven Decisions

AI algorithms can sometimes perpetuate or amplify existing biases, which can have significant implications for your influencer selection and campaign management. It’s essential to actively monitor your AI-driven processes for potential biases, and to take steps to ensure that your influencer marketing strategies are fair, inclusive, and representative of your target audience.

Stay Informed About Evolving Regulations and Best Practices

The use of AI in influencer marketing — and digital marketing as a whole — is a rapidly evolving landscape. New regulations and best practices emerging regularly. As you incorporate AI into your strategies, stay informed about industry guidelines, legal requirements, and emerging ethical standards to maintain compliance and build trust with your stakeholders.

Your AI-Powered Future Is Waiting

In influencer marketing and so many other areas, AI can help you unlock new levels of efficiency, creativity, and performance. From identifying the right influencers to automating collaboration workflows and optimizing campaign strategies, the integration of AI-powered tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, and Claude can help you deliver exceptional results. Just remember to prioritize transparency, fairness, and ethical best practices to maintain the trust and loyalty of your influencer partners and their audiences.

Successful influencer marketing is all about building genuine, long-lasting relationships. AI can assist in this process, but it can’t totally replace the human component. Focus on how you can use AI to enhance your relationships with influencers, not automate them, and you’ll go far.

Google Cookies U-Turn: Keeping Third-Party Cookies in Chrome
Google’s spastic approach to deprecating third-party cookies seems pretty meme-worthy to us. Original image credit: The Simpsons

In an unexpected and dramatic move (but really, not all that surprising), Google has announced it will abandon its plans to deprecate third-party cookies in Chrome, the world’s most popular web browser. The decision, which comes after years of pivots and setbacks, sent shockwaves through the digital advertising ecosystem. Those in the industry who weren’t left reeling have been scrambling to reassess their strategies.

Unpacking the Shock

Google’s about-face comes after years of preparation for a cookieless future, during which advertisers, publishers, and technology companies have invested heavily in developing alternative solutions. The shock is not just about the abrupt change in Google’s stance, but also about the timing. Plenty of tech providers and brands have started to implement new tracking technologies and adjust their data privacy practices, only to find that the old methods will still be in play.

What Publishers and Brands Should Care About

1. Data Privacy and Compliance

 • Concern: With third-party cookies still in use, the onus remains on publishers and brands to ensure compliance with stringent data privacy laws such as GDPR and CCPA.
 • Action: Continue developing and implementing privacy-first strategies. Invest in technologies that enhance user consent management and data protection. Lean on first-party cookies where possible.

2. Consumer Trust

 • Concern: Consumers are increasingly aware of and concerned about their online privacy — and how different companies acknowledge and respect it. Google’s back-and-forth decisions can create confusion and potentially erode trust.
 • Action: Maintain transparency with consumers about data usage. Reinforce your commitment to privacy through clear communication and privacy policies that put the consumer first.

3. Ad Spend and ROI

 • Concern: The uncertainty around cookie deprecation has made it challenging to allocate ad budgets effectively and measure ROI accurately. In addition, the transition from Universal Analytics to Google Analytics 4 has many still learning and adjusting to the new reality of analyzing performance in Chrome.
 • Action: Use this extended period to test and refine new tracking solutions, specifically server-side methodologies like postback tracking. Diversify your ad strategies to include first-party data and contextual advertising.

4. Technological Adaptation

 • Concern: The industry has been caught in a state of flux, investing in new technologies while still relying on the old.
 • Action: Balance your investment in emerging privacy-preserving technologies with the optimization of existing cookie-based systems. Leverage server-side tracking and advanced analytics to prepare for future changes.

Moving Forward with TUNE

At TUNE, we understand the frustration and confusion this decision may cause. (Oh, do we ever.) Our previous analysis highlighted the importance of preparing for a cookieless future despite Google’s delays. As we stated in our August 2022 blog post, “Google Delays Third-Party Cookie Deprecation Again to Late 2024,” the landscape of digital advertising is constantly evolving, and flexibility is key.

Our commitment is to provide you with the industry’s most advanced, privacy-friendly tracking solutions. With this extended timeline, we encourage our customers and partners to continue adopting innovative methods for data tracking and analysis. As always, we strongly recommend using server-side postback tracking over pixel tracking, as postback tracking does not require cookies and works on mobile and desktop. You can learn about the pros and cons of postback tracking and other conversion tracking methods in our free e-book.

While Google’s decision to retain third-party cookies may provide a temporary reprieve, it underscores the importance of continued innovation and adaptation. Publishers and brands must remain vigilant and proactive in their privacy practices and tracking technologies. TUNE is here to support you through these changes and ensure your marketing efforts remain effective and compliant.

For more details on Google’s decision and its implications, read the full article on The Drum.

By staying ahead of these changes and continuously evolving our platform, TUNE aims to provide our customers and partners with the tools and insights they need to thrive in a rapidly changing digital landscape.

TUNE Network Partner Spotlight - LUX Rewards

LUX Rewards is a U.K.-based card-linked offer (CLO) partner that promotes to more than 35 million payment cards across the United Kingdom and North America. With an agile, tech-first mindset and a dedication to delivering value, LUX has been able to build enterprise partnerships with some of the largest financial services companies in the world. LUX helps enterprises like international banks, airlines, and employee perks programs to aggregate and organize offers that resonate with their audience. In addition, they enable enterprises to create engaging partner programs with their technology.

Read on to find out if this CLO partner is right for you!

Q: Can you give us a high-level overview of LUX Rewards?

A: We feature leading advertisers (Blacklane, Just Eat, Zoom) in front of an audience of 50+ million cardholders, via our partnerships with banks (20 million U.K. and U.S. Mastercard SME cardholders, PNC Bank), airlines (British Airways), and employee benefit platforms (NextJump and more).

Q: What are the top ways you promote brands?

A: The top ways we promote brands:

 • Mastercard SME Business — 20+ million high-spending U.K. and U.S. SME business cardholders including owners, directors and key decision makers, that spend $1 billion or more on business goods and services annually.
 • PNC Bank — the fifth largest bank in the U.S., with 13 million cardholders.
 • CashApp — the third most downloaded app in the U.S. with 88 million users. CashApp has seen a 98% retention rate, and 55% of its users don’t bank with any other financial institution.
 • Various other banks, airlines and employee benefit platforms across the United Kingdom and United States.

Q: What is the total reach of your audience?

A: Collectively, more than 50 million cardholders, and growing!

Q: Which verticals perform the best with LUX Rewards?

A: Our top verticals:

 • B2B SaaS Tools & Software
 • B2B Goods & Services (printing, gifting, entertainment, hardware, travel)
 • Nationwide B2C Retail brands (including stores)

Q: Can you tell us about a successful campaign you’ve run in the last six months?

A: NordVPN:

 • £431,160 — total CLO spend driven
 • £63,100 — total CLO spend driven last month
 • Doubled monthly CLO transactions through our publisher channels in the campaign’s first six months

Selfridges:

 • £4.04 million — total CLO spend driven
 • £431 average transaction value
 • 34% six-month increase in average transaction value across our channels

Q: What’s something unique about LUX Rewards?

A: LUX Rewards is the exclusive partner for the Mastercard SME business rewards program. This gives access to a very hard-to-reach group of high-spending business cardholders — something many CLO providers do not have access to.

This fits within LUX Rewards’ wider positioning as a CLO provider with the ability to target high-spending and affluent cardholder segments beyond business customers, including airline customers in the British Airways Executive Club, and American Express cardholders with triple the regular customer’s average transaction value.

Q: Any industry trends or insights to share with brands?

A: CLO is massively taking off in the affiliate world, as an alternative method in driving traffic both in store and to online stores. Our experience at affiliate events looks something like:

 • Two years ago when we turned up, we had a few conversations with people that were familiar with CLO, but for the large part, most affiliate managers had still not heard of the concept.
 • Last year, around half of the affiliate managers we spoke with had heard of CLO, but it was a relatively new concept.
 • This year, we arrived in LUX gilets and affiliate managers recognized the brand and hunted us down to talk about CLO, with budgets in mind and collateral ready to go!

TUNE Marketplace Partner Spotlight: Virality Boost https://www.tune.com/blog/tune-network-partner-spotlight-virality-boost/ Thu, 23 May 2024 19:00:00 +0000 https://www.tune.com/?p=74543 Read More]]> TUNE Network Partner Spotlight: Virality Boost
TUNE Network Partner Spotlight: Virality Boost

Virality Boost is the original influencer content syndication network, helping brands to increase visibility, spark interest, inspire action, and drive purchases at scale. They focus on crafting syndication strategies that cover the entire customer journey and aim to break barriers in influencer marketing that traditionally haven’t worked for advertisers. Their approach is researched for maximum viral impact and cross-platform actions, leveraging the natural customer journey to deliver incremental performance.

Q: Can you give us a high-level overview of Virality Boost?

A: Virality Boost is a transparent influencer content syndication network, specializing in large-scale influencer campaigns. We deliver campaigns that impact the bottom line and help brands achieve larger business objectives with quality, category-relevant influencers and advanced social strategies that leverage social media algorithms to increase visibility and impact.

Q: What are the top ways you promote brands?

A: We run 25, 50, to 100 or more influencers in a single campaign within a specific time window to drive virality — demand and awareness for the brand across two platforms, depending on brand — Facebook, X, Instagram, Youtube, and TikTok.

Q: What is the total reach of your audience?

A: Over 30 million.

Q: Can you share some insights about your audience and demographics?

A: They span 23 categories: both male and female influencers in lifestyle, web3, auto luxury, fashion, sports, travel, auto lifestyle, family, personal finances, kids under 10, kids over 10, and more!

Q: Which verticals perform the best with Virality Boost?

A: It depends on the brand, but generally wellness, fashion, beauty, lifestyle, unique offerings and products, sports, watch TV, and more.

Q: Can you tell us about a successful campaign you ran in the last six months?

A: SenseofSelf.Life – we’ll have a case study ready in a couple of weeks. See a sneak peek below.

Q: What’s something unique about Virality Boost?

A: Each campaign is spearheaded by our influencer captains. These captains are experienced influencers themselves, representing various niches within the influencer community. We diligently test our strategies, placing a strong emphasis on achieving measurable results.

Q: Any industry trends or insights to share with brands?

A: In today’s rapidly shifting digital landscape, where third-party cookies are being phased out, brands must prioritize and refine their attribution strategies to make well-informed budgeting decisions. Google is enhancing its AI-driven ads and testing Google’s Circle on Android, all to master social media imagery. Amazon is not lagging behind, with its decisive move towards influencer collaborations and image search features. Meanwhile, Meta’s robust pixel technology continues to set a high benchmark.

For businesses focused on driving growth and seizing market share, understanding the customer’s journey across diverse channels and platforms, particularly social media, is critical. Brands must focus tirelessly on stimulating demand, elevating awareness, and nurturing purchase intent. Clear attribution allows companies to allocate their resources effectively, ensuring each touchpoint resonates with their audience and contributes to a coherent brand narrative that fosters business growth.

In short, investing in full funnel campaigns and solid attribution models is not just about adapting to the new cookie-less era — it’s a fundamental approach to sustainably capturing consumer interest and propelling your brand forward in a competitive marketplace.
